LPSB Weekly Update 28th May 2021Posted on: May 28th - 2021
Welcome to the end of the half term, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support through what has been a very challenging term for staff and students alike as we have worked towards generating the Teacher Assessed Grades for our Year 11 and Year 13 students. There has been an awful lot of hard work from everyone for which I am very grateful.
There are just a few things I would like to mention as we sign off this week. Firstly, please find attached a letter which has been sent to us by Bromley Health which suggests that schools may wish to consider re-introducing face masks in communal areas in light of the local and national increase in Covid 19 cases caused by the Indian variant. The advice is changing very rapidly at the moment and we will make a final decision on this issue nearer the end of the half term, but I would ask please that all students bring a mask with them on the first day of the new half term in case the advice at that point is still suggesting we reintroduce them.
Secondly I would like to make families aware that we are saying goodbye this week to Christine Harrison, our Senior Administrator, who has decided to retire after 29 years of service at Langley Park School for Boys. Her contribution to the school over so many years has been immense and she will be greatly missed. Among her many roles, Christine is the person who organises our Open Evenings and Prize Giving Events as well as ensuring that all of our Educational Trips and Visits are appropriately organised and managed. She has been a fantastic servant to the school and we wish her a very long and happy retirement.
I hope you all have a fantastic half term break, and I am optimistic that we are actually going to be able to enjoy some nice weather!
Mr S. Parsons
