The Langley Park values represent the standards of behaviour that we would expect to see from all of our sportsmen and women when they represent their school, and are the principles which we hope to develop in our players through involvement in sport. All aspects of our sports programme will reflect our students’ adherence to these values, from team selection to recognition and the awarding of honours.
All players who attend training consistently will get the opportunity to represent Langley Park in competitive fixtures.
Players understand that they will not be selected in teams if they miss training without a valid reason.
We hold in high esteem the values of the sports we play and earn the respect of others in the way we behave.
Langley players win with humility and are dignified in defeat.
We respect match officials, opposition players & supporters, our coaches & team mates and facilities & equipment.
Strong discipline underpins sport. We do not use verbal / physical abuse, threatening behaviour, or bad language.
We have a growth mindset and value hard work, engagement and persistence above natural talent or ability.
We demonstrate Grit - a constant desire to improve, take on new challenges, endure struggle and persevere.
We encourage players to have the ambition and drive to be the best they can be both individually and collectively.
Pursuit of excellence is a key aspect of our program - athletes and teams are supported to reach their potential.
We make all players feel welcome, value each player’s contribution, and support one another both on and off the field.
We play selflessly: working for the team, not for ourselves alone, understanding that the team can achieve more by working together than as individuals. We speak out if team unity is threatened by inappropriate words or actions.
Enjoyment is the reason why we play sport – we encourage players to enjoy training and competition.
We play to win but not at all costs: player development and fostering a life-long love of sport is central to our approach.
