Our Library
At Langley Park School for Boys, we have a purpose-designed library that all students are encouraged to enjoy. The library offers a welcoming and safe environment for reading, research and further study. The library has a diverse range of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, magazines, manga and reference material, with stock selected from student recommendations and requests as well as reading lists provided by teaching staff. A small number of computers are also available for students to use for independent study.
We offer an array of events, competitions and author visits, creating experiences and opportunities to motivate students to become lifelong readers. Every year, our Book Club can meet with their counterparts from other schools in our Trust as take part in the prestigious CILIP Carnegie and Greenway Shadowing Awards. This Book Club also meets bi-weekly to discuss either a book they are reading individually or the group novel we read together. Further events include celebrating World Book Day, enjoying author or poet visits, taking part in the National Literacy Trust’s National Reading Champions Quiz every year, and visiting the central library in Bromley for their annual secondary school's quiz.
