People and Community
The People & Community Committee considers the effective engagement of LPSB, both School Executive and Governing Body, with its students, staff and the wider community in which it is located. The Committee ensures that the school has effective practices in place for behaviour and absence management, safeguarding, admissions policy and a range of other issues relevant to the well-being of the student and staff body. The Committee is responsible for enhancing the school's understanding of the issues that matter to its students and their families, and it keeps under review the school website and other aspects of school communications. The Committee also leads on developing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Board of Governors itself. At a typical meeting governors might consider the outcome of parent surveys; propose new ways of using the school website; take a report on youth mental health and discuss ways to meet skills gaps in the Board of Governors.
