Question Time comes to LPSB!

Posted on: November 1st - 2019

Thursday 10th October was an especially exciting day at Langley Park School for Boys as the production crew for BBC One’s Question Time set up for filming.

Fifteen Media Studies students were invited to join the crew of BBC Question Time on a tour of their facilities.

Grace Duncumb in Year 13, said:  “It was hugely exciting to see the Langley Park auditorium set up for the filming of BBC’s Question Time and to hear from the director about how the show would be ‘shot’.  Having the opportunity to speak to the director for such a world renowned show, as well as get to operate the cameras and sit in ‘the truck’, where all the editing takes place. This experience was a great privilege and a real inspiration to see how the media industry works, it was a real eye opener for the future.”

As well as operating the cameras and getting a close-up look of the editing room, the students were asked to sit in place of the show’s guests for the crew to run a technical rehearsal. A fantastic experience for all the students and a real help for their upcoming visual production coursework.

Langley Park School for Boys was delighted to host the debate in its state of the art theatre which seats approximately 500 people but broadcasted to three million viewers!

BBC One’s Question Time is presented by Fiona Bruce and panel members included Theo Paphitis (as seen on Dragon’s Den), Julia Hartley-Brewer and Rupert Read from Extinction Rebellion.
